Since I make my living from housing, I focus much of my charitable efforts there too. I want to share my excitement about 2 upcoming events that I am helping to sponsor and that I hope you’ll participate in.

The Charleston School of Law will hold its annual “Race Judicata” on Saturday, March 26^th at Hampton Park. This is a 5k race which benefits the Lowcountry Housing Trust. The Trust is a non-profit  affordable housing lender that raises and pools public and private investments to create a revolving loan fund that finances critically needed housing in Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester and Georgetown counties. Since its inception in 2004 the Trust has helped fund more than 750 housing units. Another non-profit that does an incredible job renovating substandard homes is United Methodist Relief. UMR is sponsoring a virtual scavenger hunt this April called “The Chucktown Challenge”. Cost to participate is $10 which gives you the opportunity to win a $5,000 prize. The hunt will be held April 15-29.
